Sorry folks, had to shut this baby down. The reason was quite simple. Idiots were using smcURL to shrink URLs and include them in spam campaigns.

I've loved providing this service, but I just won't have hundreds of thousands of smcURL links being sent out in unsolicited e-mails to unwilling recipients. The smcURL web site is still up and running though, as I still use it to shrink my own URLs.
